LAURA

Laura Martínez Rodríguez was a student of the IES Mediterráneo. She was born on the 26^th August of 2000, in Cartagena. She grew up there.

Laura was very friendly and nice, and a brilliant student (she almost got tens!). She also had a blog (The Orange Box. In Spanish, La caja naranja) where she posted her life. The blog is very, very good and very interesting (it has over twenty three thousand visits!!!).

When she was a child, the doctors detected cancer in her bones. She was very ill, but she recovered. She was very brave and fighter. She was very funny, too.

I didn´t meet her a lot, but I remember the first day of classes last year, I played basketball with her. I didn´t pass the ball, so she invented a song saying: “Javi Barceló, pass me the ball!”. And she sang it every day to me!

Unfortunately, she got ill again in the middle of the course, and she had to stop going to school. We got very sad, and we received news about her from her friends and teachers who went to see her. We made presents to her, and she wrote to us!

Finally, sadly, the illness won and she died on the 12^th of February of 2014, and all the class got very ,very sad, but we will never forget her!

AMPOSTA TRIP

Hello again! Today, I'll tell you the school trip that I did with my class 2 months ago. The trip started on the 20th of October, and we toke the bus at 9:00. The bus trip was too long, but very funny.In Amposta, we learnt a lot about the renewable energies in the morning classes, and we did a lot of excursions! We also did a beautiful project about de renewable energies that has a song, a dance (Ylvis - The Fox) a mock-up of an island that works with only renewable energies, and some nice PowerPoints (I did one of them). 

I slept with Antonio, Raul, Yago and Jorge. My room was very funny and we were very good! The monitors and the Madrid people were very nice too.

We went on the 26th of October, a little sad because we missed Amposta!

It was a great experience that I will repeat!!!

The Solidary Concert

Hi again! Today I will tell you about the solidary concert in my school. Ever year, since 1997, IES Mediterraneo sign songs for the people that want. But, this year, we have an European  concert, because there are people of other Europeans countries wth the Comenius project! We're practising the sogn "Imagine" yet. It will be fantastic!!!            :D
